Biography:

I have always embraced change in my professional life. Perhaps because there is something cathartic in every career change, something that will unravel new horizons and challenges of life?

In my twenties, I did chemical engineering, in my thirties I switched to pure chemistry and, in my forties, to top it all off, I used strategic marketing and market communications to support change in various chemistry-enabled companies.

Each career transition was catalyzed by time served in yet another university to make it all possible! Universities are special because they are the only places where we have a chance to reinvent ourselves.

My time at uOttawa was such a life-changing experience in so many profound ways that I decided to enroll again as a volunteer for the Alumni Association! Now that I am associated once more with the University, I am getting a bit apprehensive: my next career change is probably shaping up just around the corner!

Bogdan is director of marketing and sales (Europe) for US-based Pennakem LLC, a green chemistry company. He has held various positions in business development, R&D and chemical manufacturing. Bogdan has a PhD from University of Ottawa and master's degrees in chemical engineering from Jassy Technical University and in business administration from the University of Western Ontario.
