About the Panda Game

Since its inception in 1955, the Panda Game has been the marquee event on the local university athletic calendar. Named after "Pedro the Panda," originally a stuffed Panda Bear mascot turned trophy, the game caught the imagination of the entire city as Pandanappings and other Pandashenanigans gained headlines and added to the lore. On the field and in the stands, it's a classic contest that draws alumni and current students from across the province. The game was dormant from 1998 until 2013 when the Ravens football program was revived, and now it returns to its traditional home at Lansdowne. Last year’s Panda game was boasted the highest attendance of any CIS game in any sport all season, with more than 17,500 fans in attendance. The Gee-Gees lead the all-time series with 33 wins and 14 losses.
