Keynote luncheon with Kevin Page:
Economic and Fiscal Challenges in Canada
Kevin Page, Canada’s former Parliamentary Budget Officer, will talk about the long-term challenges
our country must overcome in order to encourage innovation and ensure increased productivity,
environmental sustainability, social cohesion and institutional transformation. Page calls for serious
debate on these important issues as the 2015 federal election draws close.
Speaker:
Kevin Page is a professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences’ School of Political Studies and holds the
Jean-Luc-Pepin Research Chair. He was Canada’s first Parliamentary Budget Officer, from 2008 to 2013.
He came to the University after a 27-year career as a public servant with various federal departments and
agencies, including the Department of Finance, the Treasury Board Secretariat and the Privy Council Office.
