Growing Green: Lessons from Serial Entrepreneur Chuck Rifici, co-founder of Tweed Inc.

In collaboration with the Telfer School of Management, the Faculty of Engineering is pleased to present the 2015 Entrepreneurship Bridges Lecture, entitled Growing Green: Lessons from Serial Entrepreneur Chuck Rifici, Co-Founder of Tweed Inc.

Chuck Rifici (BASc '02 Computer Engineering) started his first company as an undergraduate student in 1995 and sold it six years later for $1 million. But he didn't stop there.  He furthered his education and invested in his future, eventually becoming a CFO-for-hire for many of Ottawa's hottest startups. In 2013, Chuck co-founded Tweed Inc., a leading Canadian medical marijuana producer. In less than two years, Chuck and his team went from a startup with no payroll to a $100 million dollar publicly traded company with two Ontario locations, an expanding staff and close to 200,000 square feet of licensed production capacity. Chuck has since stepped back from his role as CEO and board member to assess his next move. Chances are it will be a good one!

In 2014, Chuck was selected as the inaugural recipient of the Faculty of Engineering's Alumni-Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Join Chuck as he shares lessons learned over a twenty year career as a serial entrepreneur, from early start-up pitfalls to executing the best exit strategy.
