The Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa will host a two-day conference to mark the retirement of The Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, Chief Justice of Canada.
This joint Common Law/Civil Law event will take place at the University of Ottawa on April 10-11, 2018, and will examine the exceptional contributions of Chief Justice McLachlin both as a jurist and to the administration of justice. This conference will provide a unique opportunity for participants to engage critically with Chief Justice McLachlin’s extensive jurisprudence and contributions to the administration of justice by presenting and discussing research inspired by her time on the Supreme Court of Canada.
Chief Justice McLachlin announced her retirement from the Supreme Court of Canada effective December 15, 2017.
