An Entrepreneur's Perspective: Re-imagining Global Payments with FinTech

Serial FinTech Entrepreneur, Marwan Forzley, is changing the world of payment processing

In collaboration with the Telfer School of Management, the Faculty of Engineering is pleased to present the February 2016 edition of the Entrepreneurship Bridges Lecture entitled An Entrepreneur's Perspective: Re-imagining Global Payments with FinTech.

Marwan Forzley is a Computer Science alumnus from the class of 1995. Twenty years ago he left uOttawa as a young innovator with many aspirations. Now he's a payment industry veteran changing the world of payment processing and making it easier to do business with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

He is the Founder and CEO of Align Commerce.

Align's mission is to change the legacy financial payments system through innovation. Using the Multi-Rail payment system they are building a new user focused financial ecosystem that services businesses in a global market. Align is backed by some of the most sophisticated investors in Silicon Valley, San Francisco, New York and Boston. 

Prior to Align, Marwan was the General Manager, eCommerce and Strategic Partnerships at Western Union Digital. Prior to Western Union, Marwan was the founder and CEO of eBillme, acquired by Western Union. He is frequently called on by the likes of CNN Money, Fox News, Forbes, Business Week and the eCommerce Times to comment on the evolving dynamics of the industry.

In 2015, Marwan was selected as the recipient of the Faculty of Engineering's Alumni-Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Join Marwan as he describes how innovation is changing the payment processing game and encourages us to hop on the concept of multi-rail technology.
