Med Talks: Science Reveals the Intricacies of the Brain and Mind

Speakers: Dr. Ruth Slack, Dr. Dennis Bulman and Dr. Georg Northoff

Three prominent scientists affiliated with the University of Ottawa Brain and Mind Research Institute (uOBMRI) will deliver fascinating presentations on the intricacies of the human brain. The topics include:

• “Harnessing the Power of Regeneration to Treat Brain Disorders”
Presented by Dr. Ruth Slack, professor in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of Ottawa

• “The Power of Genetics: Understanding and Treating Rare Brain Disorders”
Presented by Dr. Dennis Bulman, primarily appointed at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute and an affiliate investigator at the Ottawa ospital Research Institute

• “The Science of Consciousness and the Sense of Self”
Presented by Dr. Georg Northoff, Canada Research Chair in Mind, Brain Imaging and Neuroethics, ELJB-CIHR Michael Smith Chair in Neurosciences and Mental Health Research Unit director
